Hello,

With the sunsetting of Cataloger’s Desktop<https://www.loc.gov/cds/downloads/CDAnnouncementfinal.pdf> on July 31, 2023, all RBMS Bibliographic Standards Committee (BSC) Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (DCRM) manuals and examples will only be available as PDFs via the RBMS website<https://rbms.info/dcrm/> effective August 1. DCRM (RDA Edition) (DCRMR) is and will remain a free, open access integrating resource<https://bsc.rbms.info/DCRMR/>.

This upcoming change in hosting for DCRM manuals and examples means that enhanced functionality currently available in Cataloger’s Desktop, such as hypertext linking within manuals and to other resources hosted on the platform, will no longer be available. All access to the content itself will be preserved.

Please feel free to reach out to the chief editors of DCRMR, Liz Adams (elizabeth.adams at duke.edu) and Jessica Grzegorski (grzegorskij at newberry.org), with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Best,

Liz Adams and Jessica Grzegorski

Newberry Library

Located near the confluence of several waterways, the Newberry Library sits on land that intersects with the aboriginal homelands of several tribal nations: the Council of the Three Fires: the Potawatomi, Odawa, and Ojibwe Nations; the Illinois Confederacy: the Peoria and Kaskaskia Nations; and the Myaamia, Wea, Thakiwaki, and Meskwaki Nations. The Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Kiikaapoi, and Mascouten Nations also call the region of northeast Illinois home. Indigenous people continue to live in this area and celebrate their traditional teachings and lifeways. As a Chicago institution, it is the Newberry’s responsibility to acknowledge this historical context and build reciprocal relationships with the tribal nations on whose lands we are situated.

Help keep the Newberry free and open to all. Learn<https://www.newberry.org/give> how you can support the Newberry.
