on Deborah’s second question. RDA encourages making relationship links
much more than AACR2 did so I expect authorized access points for works and
expressions (a.k.a. “uniform titles”) will indeed have more
widespread use in order to clarify the relationship of the resource to the
work/expression. At least I certainly hope so. Unfortunately recording the
relationship between a resource and its work or expression is not identified as
a core relationship in RDA, and so is not required, but there is so much
emphasis in RDA on recording relationships between FRBR entities that I hope
the momentum will swing the cataloging world in the direction of making these
relationships explicit. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'>In our RDA version of DCRM, by
the way, we would be perfectly within our bounds to make recording that

preferred title/author combinations (a.k.a. authorized access points for works
and expressions) are formed pretty much the same way as AACR2 uniform titles,
except since the Rule of Three is abolished in RDA, many more uniform titles
will have an author’s name at the beginning of the string. (The
implication of no Rule of Three is that the first named author is the principal
creator of a work of shared responsibility, i.e. in AACR2 terms his/her heading
will be the main entry, no matter how many authors/creators there are.
Therefore more work/expression authorized access points will begin with the
name of the principal creator under RDA whereas in AACR2 they would have been
entered under title if there had been more than three authors.)<o:p></o:p></span></p>
