<font><font face="georgia,serif">In a larger book, with only a few gatherings in a different format from the rest, I'd advise you to state the predominant format only and, obviously, note the irregularity. In this case, however, "12mo and 8vo" seems just right.</font></font><div>

I have a couple 18th century French pamphlets (2-3 gatherings) in<br>

gatherings A-B and vertical in gathering C. Is it acceptable to give<br>
"12mo and 8vo" as the format in 300 $c or is it better to just pick<br>
one? I'd make a note either way.<br>
