Audrey – Thanks for resuscitating this. It sounds as if we
are going through the same struggles (and bet we are not
alone!) Harvard has a small group – consisting of folks from
systems, central cataloging, music, and special collections
            – exploring what to do as the deadline to decide whether to
keep our IRs as LBDs looms. A couple of us have reached out
to various OCLC representatives with questions and are
waiting for answers. However, it is my understanding that
any sharing of LBDs would only be within a given
institution. We have two general responses. One is, why not
just have the data converted and store it for possible use
in the future. The other is, why bother? The latter is
informed by the fact that – at the moment – Harvard hasn’t
            any plans to adopt WCL.
