Hi, Everyone – In facing the demise of IRs in OCLC, is anyone out there turning to Local Holdings Records as a way to address the issue of including local holdings information such as provenance
and bindings? These records permit all MARC holdings fields and can be viewed by other libraries. Harvard is trying to figure out if this alternative is preferable to LBDs. Catalogers would still have to put AAPs for local headings into the master record with
subfield 5s. - Karen
