<span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">We at OCLC all sat up and took note of last week's DCRM-L energetic discussion of your various practices regarding copy-specific data. Our metadata quality team currently
working on revising Bibliographic Formats and Standards, section 3.5, “Copy- or Institution-Specific Notes and Access Points” (http://oc.lc/79i8Si), to be more specific about preferred practices. The revision will focus on
when it is appropriate to add such information to the master record, and when it is preferable to use WorldShare Metadata local bibliographic record capabilities or local holdings data to record copy- or institution-specific data. A draft version will be released
for comment in early January, and you'll be among the first to see it.<span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">
