<p class="MsoNormal">You might want to use a separate subfield for your item 4,"Old shelfmarks: C-1-5; AB-1-3" if you are talking about your institution's shelfmarks.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We started using 852$d ("Former shelving location") two years ago, and make it keyword searchable under "Call number" so that researchers with outdated references can more easily find the item. Before that, the note was lumped in with the
852$z, where it was harder for staff and researchers to spot, and required typing introductory text.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Note that we only use it for former Folger call numbers, repeating $d as necessary. Previous owners' shelfmarks are still recorded in 852$z, the free-text copy specific notes.<o:p></o:p></p>
