Just a note to join the chorus: Yes, this would be very useful. Another example is Darwin's Origin of Species, which came out in many different editions in his lifetime, sometimes several editions in the same year (with the same place and publisher). Searching
for a given edition by its Freeman number would enable a person to zero in immediately in the right one.<br>
