 In the “nope” camp, the plates proper do not present themselves as numbered. If we open the door to transcribing numbering from other than the letterpress/plate itself, could we also (following the same logic) transcribe numbering based on numbers in tables
 of contents or indexes? That seems undesirable.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
