– i.e., its entirety, even if the plates proper are unnumbered. In the “nope” camp, the plates proper do not present themselves as numbered. If we open the door to transcribing numbering from other than the letterpress/plate itself, could we also (following
the same logic) transcribe numbering based on numbers in tables of contents or indexes? That seems undesirable.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
