<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We recently migrated from Horizon to Alma, and I am still trying to figure out the best way to handle more complicated boundwiths/sammelbands. I hope some other rare book catalogers can help.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We started using a 773 in constituent bib records, linking back to the host record, which is the only one with visible holdings/items records. This has worked for straightforward monographs bound
together. However, it gets a lot more complicated with multiple copies and multiple item records, especially periodicals bound together. I have been experimenting with different methods but I would like to hear what other Alma users are doing, and where you
have had success or difficulties.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Has anyone found a good solution? We also need to fix the already cataloged boundwiths that migrated over since in Horizon all of this was handled in the item record with the much missed linking
barcode field.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Finally, I am interested in doing a panel at RBMS 2024 about how different libraries and library systems handle boundwiths, whether that's sammelbands or any other separate bibs sharing an item
record. I added it to the
collaboration spreadsheet. The topic could be expanded to other unique formats where the physical item and system are at odds, or how you have had to change cataloging practices based on a library management system. Please let me know if you're interested!
