locks will not survive the replacement cycle. Any authority record currently in your online save file will lose its lock when OCLC loads the updated LC authority file.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">In an effort to streamline the loading process, OCLC will run an unlock process that will release all locks currently in place on edited authority records in the save file. This is a planned step to ensure a smooth transition to the updated
Library of Congress authority file. This work is planned for this Friday, August 8.

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>What Happens to Your Edits:</b><br>
When authority records are unlocked, the edits you made to the record WILL remain visible in your save file. No work will be lost.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><o:p> </o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Required Actions After File Loading:</b><br>
Retrieve a new copy of any authority record you need to edit<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Evaluate the new version of the authority record <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Optionally, lock a new version of the authority record <o:p>
</o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Complete your edits on the fresh copy of the authority record<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Replace / submit the authority record as usual<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Please Note:</b> Regardless of the status of locks, all edited authority records that had been edited before the freeze but were not submitted will be rejected when submitted after operations resume. You will need to start fresh with
