Dear colleagues,
The four days spent at the DCRM Conference at Yale last week were highly productive. We will be distributing a conference report presently, but in the meantime we will be sending out the reports of the working groups for scrutiny and comment. First to come will be the three discrete papers: WG1 statement on general principles, WG4 appendix on collection-level cataloging, and WG6 guidelines on when to create a new record, written as new rule 0B2 (displacing old 0B2 to 0B3). The work of the remaining working groups--WG2 on transcription, WG3 on accommodation of machine-press books, and WG5 on general problems and lacunae in DCRB, will be posted as the groups finish their work of refining new and changed wording to accompany changes in substance.
I apologize to those who cannot read MS Word documents sent as an attachment through DCRB-L. I will be prevented from posting these to our web site until next week.
