[DCRM-L] Use of 752 in Millennium

We use Millennium, and I enter the field routinely. It's indexed in an
omnium-gatherum keyword index that includes various note fields in
addition to keyword indexing of authors, subjects and titles. It's not
as useful as having a specific index, or at least one that could be
limited to a particular non-au/ti/su field, but given the peculiar
syntax of 752 it can be searched fairly precisely in most cases by exact
phrase searching (which requires quotes in our public catalog--don't
believe our current search tip for "advanced word search"), e.g. "states
massachusetts springfield" which yields

http://josiah.brown.edu/search/X%20%22states%20massachusetts%20springfie
ld%22

(%20 and %22 here were actually entered as space and " respectively)

I wish we could get structured index lists, which is what the field is
designed for; but it's still another tool in the box, which at the very
least tells you what the place of publication is, in more or less
controlled English. (Though in our public interface you have to know
what this bit of "other info" actually represents; a pity that MARC will
go away before we ever use it properly.)

Subject: [DCRM-L] Use of 752 in Millennium

I am trying to locate libraries that use the III Millennium system *and*
routinely make use of the 752 field (Added Entry-Hierarchical Place
Name) in bibliographic records.

How, and where, is the 752 indexed?

Links to public catalogs, with searching tips, would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,
Randy
