Subject: RBMS Controlled Vocabularies call for scope note review

Dear all,

The RBMS Controlled Vocabularies Subcommittee of the Bibliographic Standards
Committee has been engaged in a project to write scope notes for terms
lacking them in the Genre Terms thesaurus. We would appreciate your comments
on our second round of draft scope notes, which may be read and commented on
here: http://rbms.info/digress/genrescopenotes/. Please see item no. 1 in
the blog's table of contents for instructions on commenting. The period for
commenting is from now until Dec. 21, at which time I will synthesize
comments into a document for subcommittee review at our midwinter meeting.

The terms are: Convicts' addresses, Eclogues, Epics, Erotica, Etiquette
books, Fabliaux, Fantasy literature, Farces, and Formularies.

The terms themselves have already been approved, and are included in the
current version of the vocabularies, available here:
http://www.rbms.info/committees/bibliographic_standards/controlled_vocabular
ies/index.shtml. In some cases, hierarchical placement or relationships have
been changed or updated; these changes are reflected in the draft version of
the term.

Thanks,

Ryan
