George Mason University Libraries seeks a knowledgeable and
experienced cataloger to undertake a temporary assignment to process
an important gift of 20th century texts.  This project involves copy
and original cataloging of approximately 800 books using AACR2,
MARC21, LCC, and LCSH, with special attention to recording annotations
and other physical aspects of the texts, linking to supplementary
electronic materials, and creating a small genre thesaurus.

Required qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS or ALA-recognized foreign
equivalent and experience with AACR2, MARC21, LCC, and LCSH.
Preferred qualifications:  knowledge of Descriptive Cataloging of Rare
Materials (Books) and experience with rare book cataloging.  Term:
assignment will continue until entire gift is cataloged.  Salary: up
to $25/hr, based on experience.  Schedule: can be either full- or
part-time, but hours must be worked Monday through Friday between
9:00am and 5:00pm.  Work must be done on-site at Fenwick Library on
the Fairfax campus of George Mason University.  Please send resume and
