[DCRM-L] 510 Springer

Nina is correct that "Springer" is used in many OCLC records instead of Springer & Klassen. Mennonite bib.  As part of several NEH grants, our collection engaged in extensive recataloging of Mennonite items and routinely cited that bibliography as "Springer" before Standard Citation Forms had been developed.

Do you know about the Standard Citation Forms? It's being revised, but the printed version is available for use. It's also available under "Catalogers' Desktop".

It's possible that it refers to Springer & Klassen. Mennonite bibliography, 1631-1961? Not sure what you are working on.

Not sure if anyone has another trick, but when in doubt, I would search "Springer" as an author and "bibliography" as a subject in our OPAC or in OCLC. That usually produces some helpful hints.

Hi,

I'm cataloging several early 18th century publications from Amsterdam today. Some of the items have copy in OCLC that refer to citations in "Springer."

510 4_ $a Springer $c 8433

What is the fuller (or fuller) citation for Springer?
Also, Is there a list somewhere of the common bibliographies and their brief $a citation we frequently reference in the 510?
