[DCRM-L] DCRM(G) and GMDs

OCLC's policy on creating hybrid records to add RDA data such as the 3xx's states that existing GMDs will be deleted after 2016. I guess this presumes that all records will be RDAified by then? What a challenge keeping up with the simultaneously shifting sands of so many cataloging codes!

I am very glad to hear that the 33x's stand in for the GMD - I thought that might be the case. You might want to consider adding a line to the BSR if there is still time. Thanks!

Are you making an RDA record? For records coded dcrmg and rda, you'd follow the BSR for rare materials, where it's implicit that the 33X fields do the same thing, so you can omit the GMD. (And you have to omit the 245$h if you want something coded dcrmg and rda to validate in Connexion... but I don't know if dcrmg is valid in Connexion yet).
Or at least, it was supposed to have been implicit... I'm not sure if the revised BSR (which now includes graphics) has been made public yet or not.
Erin.

Karen, I simply add [graphic] in subfield $h. For example, see:

For those of you implementing DCRM(G), what are you doing about the requirement that all records must have GMDs?
