Hello Jackie, thanks so much for letting us know that OCLC is working on this. Do you have any sense that continuing to work during this time will cause irretrievable damage to the records which lose their 079s?
Thanks, andrea

Allison Rich said: "I discovered yesterday when trying to export some records that the 079 field, which links the master record to the institutional records, has ceased to exist from the record I tried to export yesterday. In addition, when doing a sampling of bringing up the IRs attached the master records in my save file, the 079 field has disappeared from those as well."

Allison, the appropriate people at OCLC are aware of the problem with IRs and the 079 field, and a fix is in the works. No ETA, but it sounds like it'll be within a week or so.

Best wishes, Jackie
