[DCRM-L] RDA discussion topics for CC:DA at Midwinter

Matthew,

I have a couple of ideas regarding item #2 Structured descriptions of
related manifestations. The DCRM(MSS) editors haven't had a chance to
confer so these are just my own thoughts and don't necessarily represent
the DCRM(MSS) Working Group as a whole.

I agree with you that the instructions at the beginning of "Reproduced as
(Manifestation)" (p. 5) and "Reproduction of (Manifestation)" (p. 6) seem
to exclude manuscripts and their facsimiles. They may just need tweaking so
here are two suggestions.

Change "Record the title proper of the related resource, by applying the
instructions at 2.3.2." to "Record the title proper of the related
resource, by applying the instructions at 2.3.2. Record the title for
unpublished, untitled resources, by applying the instructions at 2.3.2.10
and 2.3.2.11."

Change "Record the publication statement of the related resource by
applying the instructions at 2.8." to "Record the publication statement of
the related resource by applying the instructions at 2.8. Record the
production statement for an unpublished related resource by applying the
instructions at 2.7."

Thanks a lot for bringing this to DCRM-L. I'd be interested to hear what
others think as time permits.

Happy travels to all going to Midwinter.
