It is my great pleasure to announce the publication of Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Cartographic), available as a free PDF at http://rbms.info/dcrm/dcrmc/. DCRM(C) can be used immediately for cataloging with the MARC 040 code "dcrmc."
In addition to being included in a future release of Cataloger's Desktop, the PCC BIBCO Standard Record (BSR) will also be updated to include DCRM(C).
I would also like to mention there will be a workshop, "Applying Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Cartographic)," offered on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the RBMS Conference being held in Coral Gables, Florida; more information can be found at http://conference16.rbms.info/workshops/.
My appreciation and gratitude go out to my fellow editors, Randy Brandt, Larry Creider, Nancy Kandoian, and Manon Théroux, for committing their time and great effort in seeing this manual completed.

The Beinecke Library's building is closed for renovation until September 2016. We have opened a temporary reading room in Sterling Memorial Library, but access to some collections may be limited during the renovation. For more information, visit our renovation website<http://beineckelibraryrenovation.yale.edu/>.
Please note: The Beinecke Library will close completely during the month of August 2016 as staff and collections are relocated to the building at 121 Wall Street in preparation for our reopening in September 2016.
