[DCRM-L] Decorative fonts

After re-reading the original message, I thought my response needed a
disclaimer. The RBMS type evidence thesaurus introduction
<http://rbms.info/vocabularies/introductions/TypeIntro.htm> indicates that
the thesaurus is appropriate for describing types--both the impressions
produced from type and the actual type sorts--scope notes of other terms in
the thesaurus would suggest that this is inclusive of hand-set moveable
type and various mechanical letterpress methods, stereotype plates, and
even computer typography, but NOT not to lettering/text produced by other
methods such as engraving/intaglio, lithography, calligraphy/manuscript,
or typewriter. So for the engraved Strauss title pages, perhaps something
from the Getty Art and Architecture Thesaurus
<http://www.getty.edu/research/tools/vocabularies/aat/> or the Thesaurus
for Graphic Materials <http://www.loc.gov/pictures/collection/tgm/> would
be more appropriate?
