The RBMS Bibliographic Standards Committee welcomes volunteers to participate in a close reading of a draft version of Examples to Accompany Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Serials) - a new resource in the same format as examples for DCRM(B)<http://www.loc.gov/cds/desktop/documents/DCRMBex/>. The examples for Serials include over 40 records demonstrating application of DCRM(S).

Volunteers will work in collaboration with members of BSC to carefully review spelling, punctuation, formatting, cross references, content and clarity. Expertise in cataloging rare serials is not a prerequisite. Participation in the review is, in fact, a means to gain a better understanding of the standard. Participation is also a good means to introduce yourself to BSC (for newcomers). Participants must be available to conduct the work during the month of March.

If you'd like to volunteer, or if you have questions about the activity, please email me (francis.lapka at yale.edu<mailto:francis.lapka at yale.edu>).

Thanks,
Francis
