All,

FYI, along with the awardees named above (who are associated with the University of California), I bring to your attention that Nancy Lorimer is also honored.

Congratulations, Nancy!

Subject: Congratulations to Jeannie Chen, Yuri Shimoda, Hermine Vermeij and Matthew Vest

Hello all,

The annual meeting of the Music Library Association (MLA) at St. Louis Union Station in Missouri, celebrated contributions to music libraries and librarianship.

The UCLA Library had four members recognized:

- Jeannie Chen and Yuri Shimoda were awarded the Kevin Freeman Travel Grant to support travel and hotel expenses to attend the MLA Meeting.

- Hermine Vermeij along with Beth Iseminger, Nancy Lorimer, and Casey Mullin, received the Richard S. Hill Award for best article on music librarianship or music-bibliography for the article “Faceted Vocabularies for Music: A New Era in Resource Discovery,” in Notes 73.3 (2017): 409-431.

- Matthew Vest and former UCLA librarian, Joy M. Doan, both received the Walter Gerboth Award to support music research and scholarship.

For more about the MLA awards, see their news post<http://blog.musiclibraryassoc.org/blog/2019/03/01/2019-mla-award-winners/>.
