Binghamton University Libraries seeks enthusiastic candidates for the role
of Cataloging Librarian to support the Binghamton University community by
providing bibliographic access and control through both metadata and
traditional cataloging.

The incumbent serves as a member of the team responsible for providing
original, adjusted and copy cataloging and bibliographic control for a wide
range of print and non-print materials in various formats. A demonstrated
ability to apply RDA, Library of Congress Subject Headings, and MARC21
formats for bibliographic and authority records is required; experience
with at least one non-MARC metadata schema such as Dublin Core is also
needed. Binghamton University is part of the SUNY system, which uses Alma,
so a background in this or other Ex Libris products is preferred. A strong
commitment to service and user access to information is essential.

Librarians at Binghamton University are members of the tenure track faculty
and are expected to contribute significantly to the profession. For the
full job description and more information on how to apply, please visit:

Review of applications will begin on January 28, 2021 and continue until
