[DCRM-L] Need examples of MARC 255 and 340 OPAC display for a Monday meeting

Hi Erin,

I have some experience with the 340 field, although it is not a field I
would manually code for an original record. I have seen the 340 on a
handful of records from OCLC for the rare materials that I catalog at NYU.
It is typically coded as follows:

*340* *##**$m*4to*$2*rdabf

The 340 field would duplicate the information contained in 300 $c if you
have indicated both format and shelf-dimensions in that subfield.

It is not indexed in our OPAC (Aleph) at all.

Hope this helps!

William
