[DCRM-L] Crosswalk from former RBMS Thesauri to RBMS CVRMC

On behalf of the RBMS Controlled Vocabularies Editorial Group, we are pleased to announce the availability of the crosswalk from the former RBMS Thesauri (Binding, Genre, Paper, Printing and Publishing, Provenance, and Type) to the integrated Controlled Vocabulary for Rare Materials Cataloging (RBMS CVRMC) that launched last year. The files for the crosswalk can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/RBMScrosswalk. The six former thesauri have been officially deprecated since the launch of RBMS CVRMC (|2 rbmscv), and this crosswalk is intended to assist with bibliographic file maintenance.

The crosswalk includes a spreadsheet for each former thesaurus mapping the previous terms to their corresponding new terms, and there is a system-agnostic instruction document accompanying each spreadsheet. Please note that because the application of the genre terms thesaurus did not include a parenthetical qualifier after all terms, the genre terms spreadsheet only includes terms that changed form and not all terms from the thesaurus; however, all terms will still need an update of their $2 source code. An additional spreadsheet includes deleted terms broken up into a tab for each former thesaurus.
