Apologies for cross-posting; we are seeking to reach as broad a
constituency as possible. Please respond via the form linked below, and not
to the list.
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC) Task Group on AI
and Machine Learning for Cataloging and Metadata
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/wiki.lyrasis.org/display/PFCCP/PCC*Task*Group*on*AI*and*Machine*Learning*for*Cataloging*and*Metadata__;KysrKysrKysrKys!!EDx7F7x-0XSOB8YS_BQ!b_mUjVU9PxD0foeqohtXdyXM_BDvnrhmIQN7f2NMp44Y0WG3z7dU7bOCipf3nCYwvizdwXzflHNVTag2pYR2j81dSC9bnco$>,
I’m pleased to share with you the draft PCC Guiding Principles for Use of
AI and Machine Learning Technologies in Cataloging and Metadata Work
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/docs.google.com/document/d/1UIDqZGU-1gVfRmWb_-UKRhZRUySyr1SdrU6qSA2f-80/edit?usp=sharing__;!!EDx7F7x-0XSOB8YS_BQ!b_mUjVU9PxD0foeqohtXdyXM_BDvnrhmIQN7f2NMp44Y0WG3z7dU7bOCipf3nCYwvizdwXzflHNVTag2pYR2j81dCz-bMLA$>.
We are seeking community feedback on the draft principles and would love
your input.
The Task Group intends to maintain this document as a draft and will
collect comments until August 1, 2025. The finalized version will be
included in our final report.
We have included disclaimers noting that this is a high-level statement
rooted in values rather than best practices or specific instructions, which
will be developed in the coming months. As a result, this is an initial
document and may not address all specific questions.
Please share your feedback on this document through the form
