[DCRM-L] DCRM-L Digest, Vol 231, Issue 7

Good afternoon all,

I'm curious if you know of any genre terms relevant for sealed/trapped/inaccessible/unreadable books.
Several artists' books we've received in the last few years are completely enclosed, have to be damaged (broken open, sawed into etc.) for the text to be accessible, and often remain in our collection in a sealed state. It might be too rare a state to warrant its own description, but it would be interesting to learn if you encounter any of these/how often they turn up.

Would something like Getty AAT's 'hermetically sealed' be appropriate?

Best wishes,
Liz Ridolfo
