With apologies for cross posting! Sent on behalf of Julia King, Lead Curator, Incunabula and 16th Century Books, British Library

Dear colleagues,

In celebration of the centenary of the 1926 publication of A Short-Title Catalogue of Books Printed in England, Scotland and Ireland, and of English Books Printed Abroad 1475-1640 and the 2025 relaunch of its successor, the English Short Title Catalogue, ESTC/British Library and ESTC/North America will host a one-day symposium at the British Library in London on 16 November 2026, held online and in person. This one-day symposium seeks to celebrate the legacy of the first two editions of STC and explore the promise of the newly re-launched ESTC with a series of talks and discussions on topics ranging from the history of submitting data to STC, the effects of ESTC on library professional practice, and the ways that ESTC's data can continue to tell us more about the books of the handpress period and the people who worked with them.
Registration is free of charge, and available in an in-person and online option here<https://events.bl.uk/events/stc-to-estc-past-present-and-future>. Please note that in-person spaces are extremely limited and if you find yourself unable to register for an in-person space, please register for the online option and email Julia.King at bl.uk<mailto:Julia.King at bl.uk> to be placed on a waiting list.
Speakers include:
