[DCRM-L] ESTC available on BL web site

Juliet, Standard Citations specifically instructs users of the ESTC to specify the edition. Those of us who have been using the online file have been using ESTC (RLIN). Although this may change, currently the standard formulation requires an indication of the source of the citation.

Deborah ¬ Please do not ask people to use the (BL) addition to the ESTC identifier. We are still and always just the ESTC. Juliet

>I think that we need to use ESTC (BL) when that is the source of the ESTC record until the Standard Citations formulation practice is changed. I know that there are many people who prefer to have no parenthetical qualifier at all. The second option, of "ESTC (BL) ‡c STAR id XXXXXX" is inadvisable. I wouldn't be surprised if the display of the 510 as "STAR id" ends up getting changed.
