Just a follow-up:

CC:DA discussed the ISBD Area 0 proposal at one of its meetings at ALA
Midwinter. I mentioned that there was some unhappiness in the special
collections cataloging community at the inability to distinguish between
manuscript and printed material. Dorothy McGarry, a member of the ISBD
Review Group, responded that manuscript material falls outside the scope of
ISBD; apparently ISBD was never intended to apply to manuscript materials.
