Hello all,

The DCRM (Manuscripts) editorial team has completed a beta draft of its
rules for Area 1, and invites catalogers of all stripes to review the
document.

The draft is on the RBMS web site, here:

http://www.rbms.info/committees/bibliographic_standards/dcrm/dcrmmss/dcrmmss
.html

DCRM(MSS) represents a real departure from DCRM(B) and DCRM(S), which dealt
only with printed materials. While the team is very interested in hearing
from experienced manuscript catalogers, they're particularly interested in
feedback from those with little or no manuscript experience as well.

The DCRM(MSS) editors are especially eager to hear about:

--the clarity of the distinction drawn between formal and devised titles

--whether the overall order is clear, and makes sense

General impressions are also very welcome. And note that additional examples
are welcome too, especially where noted.

PLEASE NOTE these important points:
1. Send all comments to jneslson at law.berkeley.edu

2. Use the following subject line: DCRM(MSS) Comments

3. Submit comments by December 11, 2009

Thanks very much!
