[DCRM-L] Numbering relating to "none of the parallel series titles" in DCRM(B) and (S)

It's very early in the morning, and I may not be thinking clearly. Also, the
rule in my (first printing) copy of DCRM(B) does not read exactly as Erin has
quoted it. But: if the rule in the second printing of (B), or in the sole
printing of (S) (neither of which is available to me right now at home),
actually does read as Erin has quoted it, then I see no problem.

The rule as Erin has quoted it does not refer to transcribing numbering that
relates to "none of the series titles." It refers to transcribing numbering
that relates to none of the _parallel_ titles. The first title of a series is
the title proper of the series; it is not a parallel title. It is the title,
period. Isn't it?

The following contains two parallel titles:

Good day = Bonjour = Buon giorno ; number 22

"Bonjour" is a parallel title as is "Buon giorno." "Good day" is not a
parallel
title. The rule as Erin quotes it says that if the numbering refers to none of
the parallel titles - and thus refers only to the title proper, as in my
example - the numbering is transcribed at the end.

I see no problem there.

However, if the rule really does read "none of the series titles," then
I agree:
it just seems wrong.
