I did not realize the current edition is out of print. You've got an excellent point, Richard, about CD. I think there is a lot of support for making the revision available on the RBMS website.

Subject: [DCRM-L] Public access to SCF

In advising a faculty member re a couple of bib references ("Pritzel", "Hunt"), I was looking to see whether SCF is available in anything other than print and via Cataloger's Desktop; but nothing comes up on CDS. It's not listed in the "Find Products and Services" page

http://www.loc.gov/cds/products/index.php

I did a site search for "standard citation" and there it was at the top of the hit list, but clicking on it brought only an empty form at

http://www.loc.gov/cds/products/product.php?productID=76

So it's o.p.? Available only to a narrow range of professional librarians via CD? And therefore practically useless?
