[DCRM-L] Signature special characters question

Marilyn,

A further note: that initial "chi^2" is incorrect, since this is a
prefixed/preliminary gathering not preceded by any actual or inferred
element of the main series. So the correct formula is

pi^2 [superscript pi]A^4 A-O^4 P^4(-P4) Q^4 R^2

Curiously, I can't quickly turn up a Bowers example of pi preceding a
preliminary duplicate signature (with a superscript pi), but it seems
logical enough. Someone else less absorbed in piles of trivial broadsides
(my present condition) may have time to turn one up in the *Principles*.
