I want to thank you all for your good wishes-I feel a bit overwhelmed by the kindness of members of the list responding to this message. I have always been impressed by the good will demonstrated among DCRM list members and can't think of a group of people I'd rather work with. You're great! Rare materials catalogers rock! :)

Regarding the Handbook, I hope it will be useful. If anyone finds any typos or other mistakes, please let me know (privately-no need to clutter the list). ALA is keeping track of them for the next printing (I haven't found too many so far, but to my dismay I found one the day after I got my print copy).
