Dear Jane and other interested UK colleagues,

If there is enough interest for a workshop and Todd is available, I am happy to organise one as Chair of the UK Bibliographic Standards Committee of the CILIP Rare Books and Special Collections Group.

If you are interested in attending a DCRM(C) course in the UK, could you, please, get in touch with me off list?

We would probably be looking at dates in the autumn at the earliest.

Thank you.

Kind regards,
Iris

Jane,

I would be quite happy to give a workshop for DCRM(C) in the UK or Europe; I wonder if there would be enough interest to justify such a trip?

Thank you Todd!

I wonder if those of us whose parent organisations won't pay expenses to Florida will have the chance of a workshop over this side of the Atlantic...

It is my great pleasure to announce the publication of Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Cartographic), available as a free PDF at http://rbms.info/dcrm/dcrmc/<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__rbms.info_dcrm_dcrmc_&d=AwMFaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=Np9Dv-N85TxuwGXDqbzvM-I_B1c6fwLXrzKWWE4fD3I&m=Pip_uT2HVQcZnfjkI3WRuPaB41cC9BtPiAg7SMTjpiA&s=IkfHH5efCtQboSjhZof4240uE7kcRGhGhS_9O4r1wkE&e=>. DCRM(C) can be used immediately for cataloging with the MARC 040 code “dcrmc.”

In addition to being included in a future release of Cataloger’s Desktop, the PCC BIBCO Standard Record (BSR) will also be updated to include DCRM(C).
I would also like to mention there will be a workshop, “Applying Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Cartographic),” offered on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the RBMS Conference being held in Coral Gables, Florida; more information can be found at http://conference16.rbms.info/workshops/<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__conference16.rbms.info_workshops_&d=AwMFaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=Np9Dv-N85TxuwGXDqbzvM-I_B1c6fwLXrzKWWE4fD3I&m=Pip_uT2HVQcZnfjkI3WRuPaB41cC9BtPiAg7SMTjpiA&s=3d17gmAt1qE3DD7g8aJNJxz3gun35CmXogaydUW1rjk&e=>.

My appreciation and gratitude go out to my fellow editors, Randy Brandt, Larry Creider, Nancy Kandoian, and Manon Théroux, for committing their time and great effort in seeing this manual completed.
