[DCRM-L] Watermarks on full-sheet paper?

I'm cataloging a book that has leaves which are 55 x 38 cm. Based on Gaskell p. 86 that seems too big to be a folio, yet the chainlines are vertical and there are watermarks in the middle of the sheets. What would watermarks and chainlines be like on full-sheet books? Would a full-sheet book have to have two watermarks on each sheet, since it's not folded?

The book was published in London in 1784.
