I applaud the updated citation form for the the Bibliothèque nationale's
Catalogue des incunables, henceforth to be cited as "Bibliothèque nationale
(France). Catalogue des incunables (CIBN)," "to reflect the frequent use of
[the acronym] to refer to it."

What about doing the same for a few others, for the same reason? To start
with, consider updating Incunabula short title catalogue to "Incunabula
short title catalogue (ISTC)" and Gesamtkatalog der Wiegendrucke to
"Gesamtkatalog der Wiegendrucke (GW)"?

In particular, the latter has been cited as GW in most incunabula
literature since shortly after its inception in 1925.

By the way, the CIBN was issued between 1985 and 2014. The original issuing
body was indeed "Bibliothèque nationale (France)," as SCF has it. However,
as of 1994 the issuing body became "Bibliothèque nationale de France," and
the OCLC record (# 8903020) now reflects this.
