[DCRM-L] query about a number line

Ahh, good, thanks, Anneke!

I was kind of feeling my way to that, but had never seen one quite like it.

And I think the centre number is a code for a publisher or printer, and nothing to do with the actual date.

Case closed, thanks everyone!

Karen

Karen,

in our library we use an internal document with 'translations' for this type of information, and would interpret your example >>2 3 4 5 041 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1<< as:
publication date ends in 2 [tallies with your 1982]
printing: 1st

I found this English term: Printer's key, more extensive information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printer%27s_key
there may of course be other terms in use and sources of information elsewhere.

hope this helps,

Dear friends;

I'm fairly new to number lines... and I am having trouble deciphering this one, from a 1982 monograph editon from Barrons's Educational Series:

2 3 4 5    041    9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

Any enlightenment gratefully received.

karen
