The task group looking at OCLC's Merging duplicate continuing resource records seeks input on its draft revision, which incorporates guidance on rare serials. Please make any comments in the Google doc by 4/27.

The draft is available for comment here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1u8jXUBD8Lii0cMK37Jajz07WTCL4W0VRptFhux9TinE/edit?usp=sharing<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/docs.google.com/document/d/1u8jXUBD8Lii0cMK37Jajz07WTCL4W0VRptFhux9TinE/edit?usp=sharing__;!!C5qS4YX3!TSGpt2jHariOFTZzeQ9koipDRSnolP8qcbmjmj6jXxGJaBdDK3v60XWEWJPGurxM$>.

The original guidelines are available online: https://help.oclc.org/WorldCat/Metadata_Quality/Member_Merge/Merging_duplicate_continuing_resource_records_A_field_by_field_comparison

Although we are not revising OCLC's Record merge field transfer and merge matrix, it may provide useful context: https://help.oclc.org/WorldCat/Metadata_Quality/Member_Merge/Record_merge_field_transfer_and_merge_matrix<https://nam05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fhelp.oclc.org%2FWorldCat%2FMetadata_Quality%2FMember_Merge%2FRecord_merge_field_transfer_and_merge_matrix&data=02%7C01%7Cfrancis.lapka%40yale.edu%7C288eeac662124dd2d26e08d71b5ae362%7Cdd8cbebb21394df8b4114e3e87abeb5c%7C0%7C0%7C637007949489133641&sdata=J1EsX7MDlK4%2F0VkztD0oG56JDZxbHQjjnBjIKw6zRMs%3D&reserved=0>.

Please note that these guidelines are specific to continuing resources and it is not appropriate to cover other formats in this document. This document draws largely on the previously approved (but as yet unpublished) rare materials revisions to OCLC's Merging duplicate books records, and incorporates feedback from DCRM(S) editors.

Sincerely,
Ryan
