Colleagues,

I want to draw your attention to the newly posted OCLC Member Merge Project document, Merging Duplicate Books Records: A Field-by-Field Comparison<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/help.oclc.org/WorldCat/Metadata_Quality/Member_Merge/Merging_duplicate_books_records_A_field_by_field_comparison__;!!C5qS4YX3!RNZnHzPb9o2RF5iU-_1SB_xFLWCPa4NuoPcIP6kagJQflEC2E0lRbtiOacHuzjsR$>. This document replaces the previous guidelines for books, and incorporates provisions for rare books, as approved by the RBMS Bibliographic Standards Committee (BSC) earlier this year. A BSC working group is currently drafting rare provisions for continuing resources, scores, graphic materials, and cartographic materials.

Many thanks to Jay Weitz and others at OCLC for their willingness to work with us on these documents.

Best,
Ryan
