I could see going one of two ways:

   1. Code it as "realia" and use DCRM(G) for guidance, but code the 040$e
"local" instead of "dcrmg" [because there's no such thing as *Descriptive
Cataloging of Rare Materials (Realia)*, and DCRM(G) theoretically
requires "k" in the fixed field or else it won't validate in Connexion (in
fact, I don't think OCLC's validation algorithm is sophisticated enough to
compare 040$e with fixed field form)].
   2. Code it as "graphic" with 040$e dcrmg, and think of it as an
extremely thick print, where parts of the "thickness" are spatial voids [a
bit like treating an artist's book as a "book" rather than as "realia"]

If you do code it k (graphic material) you don't need to worry that 5B4.3 says "Multiple supports forming one *image*" as opposed to "Multiple supports forming one *unit*." If the pieces form a unit, and that unit is "visual" then you've got an "image" (As a thought experiment, consider an "image" like Barbara Kruger's "Untitled (Flag) <https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/-66843E4951>" or her "Untitled (Plenty ought to be enough <https://www.artsy.net/artwork/barbara-kruger-untitled-plenty-ought-to-be-enough>)"
where the artwork is made up of text. Although these items derive meaning from being *read*, they have to be perceived as *images* (images of the text, with a particular color scheme, arrangement, lettering style, etc.) not as "text" alone. Typing out "Plenty ought to be enough" in Comic Sans and reading it on a screen is *not *"Barbara Kruger" but typing out "To be or not to be" in Comic Sans and reading it on a screen *is *"Shakespeare").

The limited list of SMDs to choose from in DCRM(G) only applies to the first part of the phrase in the 300$a, which is the "5 prints" part. The rest of the 300$a (per 5B4.3) is simply "a phrase descriptive of the image as a whole." Legitimate DCRM(G) options would then include (but not be limited to):

   - 5 prints folded to form 1 wall installation : linocuts

or

   - 5 prints forming 1 wall installation : folded linocuts

or

   - 5 prints forming 1 unit : linocuts, folded to make 1 wall installation

Any of those could also be expanded to "linocuts on paper" if you want to get the primary support in there, too.

Those are my thoughts, anyway!

Cheers,

Erin
