Dear colleagues,

The Program Planning Group of the RBMS Bibliographic Standards Committee
(BSC) would like to gather a panel of speakers to present on cataloging
materials that are written in non-Roman scripts, especially if the speakers
catalog materials in scripts that they do not know very well. Although BSC
has not yet endorsed this topic, this is one of the topics that the Program
Planning Group will submit to BSC for endorsement. This presentation will
be proposed for the RBMS 2023 Conference, which will occur in Bloomington,
Indiana from June 27-30.

If you regularly catalog materials in any non-Roman script and would like
to present your workflows and tips for cataloging these materials,
especially from the perspective of someone who doesn't know the script
well, then email me at aschuba at umd.edu by the end of your workday on
Thursday, October 6th and include the language that you would like to
present.

For background: The RBMS Bibliographic Standards Committee (BSC) is
committed to increasing programming related to cataloging and technical
services at RBMS conferences. Currently, the BSC is seeking presenters and
topics to endorse for the RBMS 2023 conference. We recognize that proposal
writing can be time-consuming, especially if you've not done it before. If
you have a topic idea and are willing to write a session proposal, the
BSC's Program Planning Group will provide assistance and guidance in
drafting the proposal.

Thank you,

Andrea Schuba
