Hello all,
Do any of you use field 562<https://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/bd562.html> (Copy and Version Identification Note) in your cataloging and if so, can you tell me more about use cases either here or email me at jamesk at oclc.org<mailto:jamesk at oclc.org>? Field 562 is not indexed in WorldCat so that may be one reason I don't think I have seen it much when looking at records in Connexion. I also don't remember using it in previous jobs cataloging rare materials. Links to records in your local catalogs would also be very appreciated.
Please note--I am asking for myself so I can understand the field better, not because OCLC is planning any indexing changes. I looked at the Examples to Accompany DCRM(B) and DCRM(S), but didn't see it in either one.
