[DCRM-L] RBMS vocabulary updates August 2026

Dear colleagues,

The RBMS Controlled Vocabulary for Rare Materials Cataloging<https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/rbmscv.html> (CVRMC) and RBMS Relationship Designators<https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/rbmsrel.html> have been updated, and new terms are available for use.

New terms added to CVRMC in this update are:

  *   Annotated editions
  *   Book curses
  *   Botanical specimens
  *   Diocesan histories
  *   Fine bindings
  *   Freedom seeker advertisements
  *   Herbaria
  *   Hollow books
  *   Inflation stamps
  *   Mendicant literature
  *   Parish histories
  *   Tête-bêche bindings
  *   Tkhines

New Relationship Designators added in this update are:

  *   freed person
  *   freedom seeker
  *   playing card maker
