[DCRM-L] RDA question

RDA preferred title/author combinations (a.k.a. authorized access points for works and expressions) are formed pretty much the same way as AACR2 uniform titles, except since the Rule of Three is abolished in RDA, many more uniform titles will have an author's name at the beginning of the string. (The implication of no Rule of Three is that the first named author is the principal creator of a work of shared responsibility, i.e. in AACR2 terms his/her heading will be the main entry, no matter how many authors/creators there are. Therefore more work/expression authorized access points will begin with the name of the principal creator under RDA whereas in AACR2 they would have been entered under title if there had been more than three authors.)

RDA authorized access points can be applied to works and expressions. Unfortunately RDA does not (yet?) deal with authorized access points for manifestations or items. I hope rules for these will be worked out in a future revision.

Subject: [DCRM-L] RDA question

What is RDA's position on uniform titles? Is the uniform title going to have more widespread use in order to more clearly catalog the work - expression - manifestation?
