Dear all,
I am cataloging a print that is always listed under the printmaker Ambrogio Brambilla. No known impression is signed by Brambilla, and it's probably a copy of a print signed by another printmaker, so it is always listed as: Brambilla, Ambrogio, Attributed To.
For image and metadata in BM database, see:
http://www.britishmuseum.org/research/search_the_collection_database/search_object_details.aspx?objectid=1422862&partid=1&searchText=arboro+della+pazzia&fromADBC=ad&toADBC=ad&numpages=10&orig=%2fresearch%2fsearch_the_collection_database.aspx¤tPage=1
Have others used the subfield j (i.e. Attribution Qualifier) of 100 in that case to list the plausible printmaker in 100, but with the qualifying "Attributed to" in subfield j. Or, is this is a case, where the printmaker is just listed in a 500 note.
Karen
