[DCRM-L] Funeral Sermons Genre Heading

Apologies for jumping the gun. I know many of you are involved in writing
scope notes for genre headings, but my colleagues and I have been debating
the use of the term “funeral sermons,” which I believe has yet to come
under review.

Our debate stems from a number of sermons (so identified in the title) on
the death of Daniel Webster. These sermons were not delivered at Webster’s
actual funeral. Would “funeral sermons” still be an appropriate term for
these items?

Any thoughts would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Best,

Will
